Peer Review Process

Upholding Quality, Integrity, and Fairness in Scholarly Publishing

The International Journal of Life Science and Agriculture Research (IJLSAR) is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of academic excellence through a rigorous, transparent, and efficient peer review process. This ensures that only scientifically sound, original, and impactful research reaches the global community.

1. Peer Review Model

Double-Blind Review:
Both author identities and reviewer identities are concealed throughout the process to ensure impartial assessments and safeguard against bias.

2. Process Overview

Step 1: Initial Manuscript Screening

Submissions are reviewed by the editorial office to check for compliance with IJLSAR’s scope, formatting, and ethical guidelines.

Manuscripts failing to meet requirements may be returned to authors for revision or declined without external review.

Step 2: Assignment to Reviewers

Suitable manuscripts are assigned to at least two independent expert reviewers with relevant subject expertise.

Reviewers are selected based on their qualifications, publication record, and impartiality.

Step 3: Reviewer Evaluation

Reviewers assess the scientific merit, originality, clarity, methodological rigor, and ethical standards of the submission.

Detailed reports with constructive feedback and clear recommendations (accept, minor/major revision, or reject) are provided.

Step 4: Editorial Decision

The handling editor reviews all reports and recommendations, resolving discrepancies if needed.

A decision letter is sent to the corresponding author, summarizing reviewer feedback and the editorial verdict.

Step 5: Author Revisions

If revisions are required, authors are invited to submit a revised manuscript, responding to each reviewer comment point-by-point.

Revised manuscripts may be sent for additional review, particularly when major changes are proposed.

Step 6: Final Decision and Publication

Upon satisfactory revision and acceptance, the manuscript proceeds to final editing, DOI assignment, and immediate open access publication.

3. Review Timelines

Initial Decision: Within 7 days of submission.

Revisions: Authors typically have up to 2 weeks to submit revised manuscripts.

Rapid Publication: Accepted articles are published online promptly after final approval.

4. Reviewer Conduct and Recognition

Impartiality and Confidentiality:
All reviewers are bound by confidentiality and are required to declare any competing interests.

Recognition:
Reviewers are acknowledged with certificates of review and, with consent, public recognition of their contribution.

5. Appeals and Complaints

Authors may appeal editorial decisions with a detailed justification.

Appeals and complaints are addressed by the Editor-in-Chief in line with COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) best practices to ensure due process and transparency.

6. Ethical Standards

IJLSAR’s peer review procedures adhere to international guidelines by COPE and ICMJE to uphold integrity, fairness, and respect for all participants.
